Rachel Wenqian Lee

'Rachel' Lee Zhang, born in Hong Kong immigrated to Vancouver with her parents when she was six years old. She joined the RCMP immediately following High School and patrolled the streets of her home town. After waiting the mandatory 3 years of service, she applied and successfully joined “E” Division’s Emergency Response Team as an assaulter. Following this, Lee Zhang transferred over to the Vancouver detachment's Anti-gang Task Force. During these three distinct phases in her police career, she had gained the trust of informants, building up contacts amongst the criminal underworld.

In 1996 when Canada supported the NATO intervention in Germany, she participated in the nationwide arrests of known Soviet spies and sympathizers. Two months later she was transferred out of the city and assigned to Pacific Command. Here the mounties were responsible for assisting the Military with coastal surveillance… watching for Soviet raiders or undercover saboteurs attempting to land on the coast.

In the summer of 1997 the Aleutian Front started. She continued in her role until the Soviet advances down the coast forced her post to close and relocate south. During the nuclear exchange in the winter of 1997/1998, she was able to make her way through the chaos to Militia units holding the mountain passes and towns near the Washington border. After serving in a provost RCMP company, during the long campaign against the Soviets and other armed masses in the region, she was ordered to report for reassignment that would take her back to Vancouver.
