A throwback to a bygone era when hippies roamed the Earth, Mitchell’s soft dark blue eyes and vague smile gives the impression of great wisdom and yet also casts doubt upon his intelligence.  His thinning dirty blonde hair, (rapidly going to grey,) and scruffy goatee does nothing to alter this perception.  Neither does his choice in wardrobe, (old loose denim jeans, worn red flannel shirt, and an ancient pair of Chuck Taylor sneakers are the usual clothing of choice for Mitchell in the Matrix.)

Typically, Mitchell carries a six foot long walking stick, (in-Matrix: a cored out hardwood filled with nickel, "real world": a thick piece of rebar.)

If he were to stand proudly upright with his broad shoulders thrown back, Mitchell would appear rather impressive at 6’, 200 lbs.  But since his usual posture is a hunched slouch, none of this is in evidence.

In the real world, aside from the wardrobe, Mitchell is remarkably similar in appearance to his in-Matrix persona.  He really is like this.
