Leland Kaspar is a man marked by devotion and sacrifice.

Having earned a quiet reputation throughout the lands as a skilled and dedicated Occult Investigator and Hunter of Creation's enemies, Leland's encyclopedic knowledge about real and imagined Occult matters is said to be rivaled only by his skill at Sorcery. Word goes on to say, however, that as it is with any great wielder of the Art, such prowess came at an heavy price.

Nicknamed the 'Grim Cardinal' for his methodical and brutally realistic approach to Sorcery and Occult Investigation, Leland strikes an impressive figure. Tall and broad shouldered, he is never seen without the full, striking Red Jade armor overlaid with orichalcum that helped earn his nickname. Coupled with a matching slotted helmet and a black silk cloak, the getup can make Leland appear pretty fearsome to some onlookers. It is said that only his immediate entourage (a group of five Dragon-Blooded assistants and apprentices who are known collectively as 'Bloodwings') truly know what Leland looks like underneath the heavy suit of armor.

Whatever Leland was like before his second breath is not publicly known. His reputation extends only as far as his first day on duty for the Deliberative, and does not cover any personal details about the enigmatic Eclipse. Some whisper that he lost everything, including family and possessions, in an early magical experiment gone wrong, turning him into the implacable Sorcerer/Hunter he is today. Others claimed he sacrificed these things willingly, the price paid for the knowledge and ability he has gained. Others still whisper that his armor hide an hideously deformed face, and a body warped and mutated by the Wyld, the result of Sorcerous manipulations and contact with the fair folk.

Whether any, all or none of these rumors are true is not known. What is known, however, is that an acquaintance of him, Headmaster Lonan Ishmerai, has called upon him to fill in the spot of Sorcery Teacher at the Academy of Celestial Learning. Traveling to Anthegenia with the Bloodwings, Leland has promised that he would help shape the Academy's students into some of the most resolute and strong-willed sorcerers Creation has known.

And that is a promise Leland Kaspar intends to keep.
