Annabeth Bennet stands just shy of 5'9 with long black hair and bright blue eyes.  An athletic child, she was raised in Thomasville, Georgia, by her Aunt and Uncle, about 30 min north of the Florida line.  She doesn't remember her parents, only that they were killed when she was very young though she has recurring nightmares about that night along with memories of fear, lots of fear and running. Her uncle was a teacher and his wife was a school administrator.

Anna had a comfortable life growing up, though through the years she thought her uncle was into some unsavory business as sketchy people would come around now and then and always leave him, on edge.  She never knew who they were but they never seemed to be pleasant. She'd always thought if there were agents of the devil in the world, they were it, as slimy as any sleazeball she'd seen on TV.

Their life was comfortable and quiet until Anna started reaching her teens. Her parents became more and more secluded and she was left out of many of the family events and gatherings and those strange people seemed to come around more and more and there were arguments that her Father, which he was to her, always seemed to back down from. She learned why weeks before her 17th birthday as her life changed forever and she was reborn. It was then she learned the truth of her new life.

They came for her in the dark of night not long after her first change left a too-handsy fellow who wouldn't take no for an answer dismembered at the Sonic where she worked.  They said she was special, a chosen one to fight for the wyrm and cleanse the world of rot and decay and she believed them, for a time.

The elders all had sores on them, open vicious things that bubbled in strange ways with hair that was mottled and splotchy.  They chanted dark rituals in the night that poisoned the land, all in the name of stopping the desecration as they saw it.  She too would understand once she went through her trial. She didn't like it and tried to leave a few times but was always caught and then beaten for their troubles.  The last time when they drug her out of her cage the showed her the heads of her parents, her Uncle and Aunt, on pikes. Now she had nowhere to run to, this was her home.

Since then she has been trying to fit in without, "fitting in".  When woodpecker found her she knew she was different and wasn't ever going to give in if she could help it.  The feeling of the spirit was one of warmth and friendship.  None of the spirits she had previously dealt with felt like that.  He agreed to help her, if she helped him and they struck and accord.  It was hard to keep him secret from the others, they'd murder him or sacrifice him if given a chance but he knew to stay away.

She purposefully worked to fail her rite of passage, barely.  She'd fought Gaian Garou, other Fera, hunterse, and others, but she only killed when she had to and she was always punished, beaten for her disobedience.  Thankfully she healed quickly now as her rebel streak kept getting her into trouble.

If there were agents of the devil at work in the world, her people were it and she hated herself.  They are a mostly despicable lot, but she knew nothing else. One day she knew she had to escape or she'd become like them.  That's when the dreams started of, other places and of a turtle. Eventually, they told her her rite of passage would be walking the spiral. She knew she had to go or it would be the end of her.

She didn't know where she'd go, but a vision was given to her of a great swamp and a woman with a turtle and with crystal clarity, it was given to her one night and she ran.  She knew without a doubt that was her destiny but who that woman was or why she did not know.
