Just a normal Beat cop who knows about the truth out there. He is aware of the threat that the monsters pose and is ready and willing to defend against them. He fought and defeated several Demonic entities and is well versed in how to deal with demons. He's heard of werewolves and has invested in some silver to make bullets for his guns. He doesn't bring those loads to work with him of course. He heard some of the other Hunters in Chicago were headed out westward and he decided to follow them, join them, whatever verb you like. He's worked with them and they have had his back while he covered theirs.
     He is still unsure of why he was picked by the Messengers, but he was still alive so that was something.
