Kariko Kumokinaya

Last Scion of the Spider Clan
The whole village knows a little about the Spider Clan - they arrived only a generation ago as a small band of refugees - old men and women with a few babies between them. These were the sole survivors of some sort of trajedy that took all the members of their village of fighting age...

The Clan is currently run by the surviving elderly members, but all claim that Kariko is the heir to the Clan rulership.  The Kumokinaya Clan is not popular in the Village Hidden In The Jungle however, and many of those who realise that she is the 'scion' of the clan deride her harder than if she was just a normal member.

Spider Clan Philosophy
The Kumokinaya believe in patience. Even when they have the upper hand, they wait until they have a position of complete dominance to truly act, much like the web-spinning Spider from which they gain their jutsu.  Grandpa Kumokinaya teaches the children of the clan how to use their Kekkei Genkai and secret clan jutsu.

The Girl Kariko wants to be
Haruka Kanata* is an idol of Kariko - a great musician who began learning his craft on a biwa.  Kariko loves her biwa, dispite the fact that the string always snaps, and she can't get the right note (on the biwa or singing).  She would really love to become a rock-star, not a ninja - a fate denied her due to her heratige.

Often, neighbours of Grandpa Kumokinaya hammer on the door with buckets of water trying to put out the fires that should have been the culnary masterworks of the Last Scion. Her skill in the kitchen is legendarilly bad, having even been known to burn a salad. Unfortuantly, Kariko sees the ability to cook as one of her prime assests in the capture of the cutest guy in school.

*One of the musicians that wrote and perfomed some of the opening music for the first season of Naruto!

Relationships within the Sentai
Reika Raioneiki:
What Kariko thinks of Reika...
Kariko doesn't want to be a ninja all that much, she wants to be a rockstar. So after the first time she lets Reika win, Reika kinda takes her under her wing... maybe a little patronizingly at times... maybe even butting into fights that dont concern her to look out for her friend because she is so loyal?

What Reika thinks of Kariko...
Reika wants to fight the strongest, after the first time Kariko let her win, she wouldn't see Karik as all that strong, not because Kariko isn't skilled but because she doesn't have the heart to be strong (the will to be not just a ninja but the strongest ninja).  She would keep pushing Kariko to put her heart into training so that she becomes strong like how Reika pictures strength.

Tsosumi Niko Zoudanka: What kariko thinks of Tsosumi...
The first time that these two met, Tsosumi covered kariko in mud while on a run. Since then, Kariko has always thought of this boy as a pain, a nuisance and a total freak.

Kekki Genki and secret jutsu of the Kumokinaya Clan

Shiru Kuito Amimono
A complex series of handsigns preceeds this Kekki Genki. The Shiru Kuito Amimono, or Silken Thread Web, is a sensory jutsu that allows the Kumokinaya to feel the vibration of chakra in a radius around them. They must be in contact with a solid object at the time, and can only sense living things. The effect has been likened to a spider's tremor-sense at the heart of its web, and is also where it takes its name from.

Spider Venom Striking Technique, or "Kumo Dokeuki Dageki"

Known Jutsu and Techniques

Eight Legged Paradigm (aka: Hachi-ashi-Dageki):
The Eight Legged Paradigm is a collection of stances and strikes that forms the basis of the Spider Venom Strikinng Technique - it is the physical art rather than the art of charkra control however, and is recognisable by the amount of acrobatic moves and splayed-finger strikes.  Kicks feature in this martial art too, though not as predominantly as they do in certain Elephant arts. Kariko has the annoying habbit of yelling 'Eight Legged Paradigm' when she first takes a stance in combat.

Family, Friends and Enemies

Grandpa Kumokinaya
Known for being the meanest and grumpiest member of the Kumokinaya Clan, Grandpa is also the legal guardian of Kariko. He is related to her by a maternal blood link, though that is all she knows.  He spends a good deal of time teaching the small number of Kumokinaya children the arts of the ninja, and the philosophy of the clan.

Coolest Boy In School
Kariko has a major crush on him...
