Has no piercings, tatoos, or jewelry.

Biography:  The second son to the owner of a large Brangus ranch outside of Huntsville, Texas, Jay Alexander, was always a bit of a dissappointment to his father.   His family is a bit old-fashioned, even by Texas standards.  Mom stays at home, Dad works at the local power plant and comes home to work the ranch.  Jay's older bother, Carl Jr., is a jock, and currently a senior at Texas A&M University, where he's a linebacker on the Aggie starting lineup.

Carl Sr. had very narrow ideas about what "men" should do, how they should act, and what they should want to do with their lives.  The stern patriarch had already decided, when his boys were young, that Carl Jr. would inherit the family ranch, and Jay would help him until the younger man was married.  To that end, the older boy is at A&M majoring in Agritcultural studies, and Jay is to major in business management, specifically the agritculture business.    His father was constantly dismayed and frustrated by his younger son's lack of interest in the family ranch and other "manly things", like repairing the farm machinery and sports.    He was somewhat reassured when Jay showed an interest in girls, but only somewhat.

The old man had originally intended to send Jay to A&M as well, where Carl Jr. could keep a watchful eye on his brother, despite how the two boys never seemed to get along.  Unfortunately, despite its reputation at a fairly conservative school, the rancher was disturbed at the liberal student groups that seemed so abundant on campus, especially the ones that seemed to catch the eye of the young Jay, when he'd come along to tour his big brother's school with the rest of the family.  Jay would later ask to go to the University Of Texas in Austin, but Carl Sr. decided that it would be a cold day in HELL before Jay went to THAT particular Sodom and Gomorrah.  But even A&M seemed too liberal these days too, especially with Carl Jr being too busy with football to keep a proper eye on the impressionable young boy.

Then Carl Sr. decided, reluctantly, to send Jay to the old man's own alma mater, Amarillo College.  He hadn't been able to afford A&M himself, at that age, but had found AC to be a very conservative, no-frills school.

The macho rancher assumed that it still was, so he never bothered to check on what is was like these days.

Jay found himself forced to apply to the remote college, and ended up going there, despite getting into at least a dozen more, better known schools, based on his grades and extra-curriculars, like Yearbook, Drama Club, French Club, and the like.   Jay hadn't even bothered to learn anything about the school either, assuming that his acceptance into Tufts, Boston College or Penn State woudl impress his father enough to make him relent.
He shouldn't have bothered getting his hopes up.

Keeping up a brave face, he packed his clothes and belongings (including a suitcase that he made sure his parents knew NOTHING about) and drove his high-school graduation gift, a 1999 Ford Contour, out onto Highway 45 to Amarillo.
