Frank is a large, jovial and intelligent man with a curious mind.  He measures 6'3" and weighs at least 300lbs.  He absolutely loves to eat and drink wine (when he can, despite prohibition) which he does to excess, and apparently without ill effect.  Despite his unhealthy habits he's physically as healthy as an ox, claiming never to have been sick a day in his life.  He doesn't smoke, neither does he go in for caffeine.  Due to his size, however, many of his patients find it easy to ignore his advice when it comes to healthy lifestyle choices.

Grimes' parents pushed him to be a doctor, and despite his acquiescing to the pursuit of that profession, his own dream was always to study archaeology. This fascination he satisfies with independent research into ancient cultures and their secrets, and as such he knows a bit of history, both mundane and obscure.  Grimes also served in the Great War, where he saw combat along with its attending casualties, both physical and mental.  He works now as a general practitioner, but also moonlights as a NYC medical examiner.

Memories of his time at war fuel much of his current overindulgence in food and spirits, and though he works hard to maintain a happy and accommodating exterior, what he has seen will always hang heavily on his spirit.

Dr. Grimes lives in a small flat in Manhattan, that he owns outright.  He drives a fairly new Model T, nothing fancy, but solid and reliable as much as a Model T ever was.  He lives a simple life and spends most of his time working.  He has a soft spot for the poor and destitute, often working for discounted fees or pro-bono depending on each patient's situation.  He runs a clinic in Harlem on his off-days, and tithes 10% of his pay to charity.
