Wardahl: The Frozen South
In a land of ice and snow there lives a hardened, but elegant people. The Isthanari. Elves of the Winterlands, as humans call them. On the world of Nehlos these are the only Elves ever to live.

For as long as any living being now remembers, the Isthanari have made their home in the Frozen South, claiming the entirety of Nehlos' southern continent for their own. They have walked the cold lands, seen the winters come and go, and still they endure. Now, in truth, they enjoy the cold. So adapted are they that what humans from warmer climes where to venture in that cold environment is too much for most elves.

They answer to one king now, the Frozen King, whose line has shepherded their people for several generations. Their faith, however, is shared between many churches, each interconnected with the next and almost all following the will of 'Father Bear'.

Like any people, these elves face darkness and enemies in their home. Orcs in the snow drifts, gnolls and goblins on the northern reaches of their lands, frost giants living in the Glacier Fields of the far south, and their own kind turned to the venom of the errant Cold Child, their goddess of nature.

But as in all things, there is also light and friendship to be found. A race of fae sighted only rarely but known to be generous and kind also makes its home in the Glacier Fields... And its people, wanderers that they are, can be seen on occasion and draw with them cheer and warmth. Upstanding citizens bent to the good of the country leave their marks upon the giants and fight the battles required to protect the rest.

This is but the story of a handful... And a compelling tale it is.
