Zachary Smith is potentially the wealthiest singular person in the universe. As the President of Vyperion, Zachary Smith is a name that is known everywhere. His face is the most well recognized face in the universe. Even the most backwoods worlds know his name.

He is regarded by many as an evil man. Vyperion is to the intergalactic market what Wal*Mart used to be on Earth1 when it still existed. Vyperion owns mega-stores on Earth1, Earth2, and almost every SSOI in the universe. Only the most hostile or otherwise no longer hospitable SSOIs do not feature a functioning Vyperion mega-store.

Vyperion sells literally everything that it can get its hands on. One of the many controversies about Vyperion is their manufacturing. Not only do they (at least eventually) manufacture everything that they sell, but they manufacture arms. Weapons and armor. Military equipment galore. And they sell it for extraordinarily cheap.

However, the controversy doesn't end there. Vyperion's guns and other equipment have a strangely coincidental propensity for being very easy to modify with Null mods. Because Null mods are always particularly savage and always against Federation regulations/convention, it is an issue.

Zachary Smith has made many claims that Vyperion never intentionally makes arms that are modifiable with Null mods. Vyperion arms are supposed to be modifiable, but the designs aren't supposed to work with Null mods. However, the company has been particularly incapable of proving that they have done everything they can to prevent such exploitations. Every year, Vyperion makes promises that the security on their arms designs has improved vastly. Those claims go vastly unfounded.

Zachary Smith is the kind of attractive man that will smile in any given situation. He is never seen losing his cool and could sell the panties off of another man's wife. Many see him as shady.

However, the convenience of Vyperion reigns supreme. It makes money simply because it is ever present and always cheap. Even if the products are of the lowest quality and the highest flash. Vyperion products have a penchant for looking great and breaking easily.
