Appearance: Eli is a large man. Coming to 6’4” and weighing 235 pounds in almost all solid muscle, he comes off as intimidating and burly. His dark, chocolate brown skin is relatively clear and his dark, jetblack hair is always kept in a short haircut. Despite keeping his hair cut short, he allows his beard and mustache to grow just about however it pleases, though it never gets too long. It’s mostly scruff. His dark brown eyes are always bright with enthusiasm and crinkle at the corners to give a faux kindness. His smile is always wide. Even though they live in a world that is dirty, Eli somehow always manages to say clean. He’s always in jeans and some sort of button up because despite it being the apocalypse, one must always “look the part.”

Personality: Eli is charming. When people meet him, they assume that they know everything about him because he seems to lay it out that way. He’s chatty and outgoing and even gives off the aura of kindness. On the surface, he seems to be rather concerned about the welfare of others and bends over backwards to help those in need. However, beneath it all, he’s calculating, cold and a master manipulator.  He’s knows just what to say to get people to do as he pleases and when they do not, well, he has plans for them….

Background: Elijah Theodore Ross was born in Snow Springs on August 4,  1965 to a single mother, Gayle Ross. His father bailed before Gayle had even reached her 2nd trimester and Gayle was a Christian woman, so she gave birth. Early life was rough on Eli. His mother worked two jobs and most of his time was spent at his grandparents’ house who thought the best past time for a grade school boy was Bible studying. Most boys at his age would have rebelled, but Eli took a shining to the whimsical stories that the Bible consisted of.

Years passed and Eli went to college where he studied to be a teacher. He got a job teaching in a Catholic school in Snow Springs and not long after starting, he married another teacher by the name of Candace. Over all, Eli lived a quiet life. He and his wife didn’t have children and rejoiced in the fact that they were always surrounded by some. They dabbled in adoption, but never really got around to it. But, Eli loved his wife with all his heart…

Until, the outbreak started. During the chaos, Eli and his wife set up camp at the tourist resort where everyone else seemed to be going. They lived there for a couple of weeks when he realized that she had been having an affair with another refugee. Upset and furious beyond control, Eli did the unthinkable. He convinced his wife and mister to go on a supply run with him where he murdered him in cold blood, forcing his wife to watch. Afterwards, he locked his wife in a supply closet of the store they were raiding with a group of hungry walkers. He only stuck around long enough to hear her cries for help.

Since then, he has established himself as the leader of the settlement that formed at the resort. He has been known as benevolent leader who knows how to handle the tough decisions. But, no one knows that the “tough decisions” are normally fed to the walkers….
