Fearghus Mac Giolla Dealbhaodh

Ht: 11 in.     Wt: 15 lbs.     SM: -4     Age: 127
Appearance: A shin-high, pudgy man in an expensive black suit and long coat, with sharp angled strawberry blond mutton chops and a receding hairline under a black topper. He wears a decorative monocle and sports a huge buckler (for his size) and a dragonbone cane that he calls his shillelagh and wields like a smallsword. His eyes lack visible pupil and iris, and they have a hazy glowing appearance (though they do not actually give off light). Underneath his clothing, he has an intricate series of body tattoos, displaying various incantation symbols. These tattoos fringe the edges of his collar and sleeves, and they slowly shift and change.

Backstory
When Fearghus came of age, like most Leprechauns, he left home to study at the Green Spire, an institute of Wizardry at the heart of the Faewilds. His curiosity had him questioning everything, including the way magical arts were taught. He wanted to understand the how and why behind the spells, something that no one even thought about anymore. The schoolmaster punished his insolence with weeks worth of dusting the forgotten corners of the library. By a stroke of Luck, Fearghus found an ancient tome describing in detail the mysteries of very fabric of reality, and how magic harnesses this knowledge to accomplish fantastic feats. Wizardry was just a simplified, refined list of spells. This was the very building blocks.

The schoolmaster was furious with his discovery. Not only did he not finish his chores, he now questioned the entire institution, calling it nothing more than a few parlor tricks learned by rote. Before he was to be expelled from Green Spire, he made a deal with the schoolmaster: If Fearghus could master this lost art and demonstrate its superiority to modern wizardry, he would not only revoke the expulsion but change the face of the entire school to include both the simple rote spells and this form of Ritual Magic the tome referred to as Incantations. Fearghus set off to prove just that.

At some point in his experimentation, he accidentally opened a portal (or perhaps merely drew the portal to his location) and stepped into the human world. He came out of a mound in the middle of the Banford Moors and slowly made his way to Tirnamos where he was turned on to dungeon delving by a party of adventurers returning from a trip to the Sirmoore Mines.
