Overall Appearance:  Emmelyn is of average height and weight for a woman her size.  Her hair is a common shade of brown, her eyes neither green or hazel but somewhere in between, occasionally honey brown.  She's a mother, but because of having her child at a young age, you'd never expect it.  Emmelyn isn't one to spend hours in front of the mirror gobing on make up or styling her hair.  Instead, she aims for a more natural look that makes her appear younger than she is.

Her body is lean, thanks to the Were genetics, and lightly toned but nothing that shows she has ever spent hours in the gym.  Her time is devoted to the coffee shop and to the sanctuary that lies beneath it.

Basic Personality:  Emmelyn is a devoted mother, first and foremost. The second love of her life is her coffee shop which she spends nearly every waking hour working in or working on. She is driven, she wouldn't have pushed herself through college while working and raising her son without that attribute. And she is dedicated, which shows through the success of her coffee shop and through her personal accomplishments. But beyond that, Emme is power hungry. She desires to see her son succeed and she wants to see herself or her son in a seat of power within the pack.

History:  To say that Emmelyn had always been one to make good choices would be a terrible misunderstanding.  But by far, the most grievous of her mistakes overrides nearly everything which had come before it.  Corbin.  Her parents had done their best to raise the wild child that they had been given, but Emme's strong will and juvenile sense of self was no match for the goodness that Robert and Claire Cain embodied.

School had come easy to Emmelyn.  She had good grades and rarely needed to study which gave her far too much free time, so when Corbin entered into her life, he proved to be the perfect distraction.  He had been older, not by much, but to a sixteen year old girl dating someone who had already graduated from high school was a big deal and an ever bigger deal to her parents who had forbidden the relationship from the first moment when Emmelyn had mentioned him.  But unknown to anyone at the time, Corbin wouldn't be in her life for long at all.  Mere weeks after their relationship began, Corbin fled at the mention that Emmelyn was pregnant.  She tried to keep it hidden but there were only so many baggy shirts that could hide her expanding abdomen.

A disgrace to her family, Emme was pulled from her prep school and sent to her grandmother's for the next few years so she could remain with her child and unseen by friends.

It wasn't long after that Emme decided to leave her life of wealth and shelter behind, striking out on her own.  At first she took small jobs that paid barely enough for her and her son, Christopher, to survive.  Eventually, when Christopher was four, she was given a short term job at a coffee shop - something that became longer termed as she showed the owner her worth and hard work ethic.  So time went by, and Emmelyn worked hard to raise her son and obtain a college education for herself.  Despite the long hours and the days she wished she could go home, Emmelyn was happy.

But happiness was always short lived.  When Christopher was ten, Emmelyn was called to the hospital after hearing of an attack on the school playground.  One of the teachers, unknown to the board of educators, was a werewolf.  They students couldn't report exactly what had happened, only that their teacher had shifted and attacked a group of boys playing on the field.  Three of the boys survived the attack, though changed forever.  The teacher, of course, was later captured and put down.

Once again, Emmelyn found herself running from what was comfortable and what she knew but running toward a place to seek acceptance.  It didn't take a lot of asking around for her to find where she could seek refuge for herself and for her son.  People had approached her, offering sponsorship for Christopher. but Emmely had no desire to remain where she was.  Given an address in Michigan, Emmelyn packed up her comfortable life and moved north with her son.

Two years into Christopher's change, Emmlyn once again losing grip on her decision process and petitioning to become a werewolf in order to understand her son and to be a part of this new world he was growing up in.    Three weeks later, at the next full moon, she embraced the life of the pack and began to understand, and grieve, the life that Christopher had.  At twelve years old he had endured more hardships than Emmelyn could count.  But she was determined to make the best of things for her son and for herself.

It didn't take her long to thrive in the ranks, slowly earning a place among them.  With her degree completed, Emmelyn made herself irreplaceable by opening a sanctuary for the Were community in the disguise of a common coffee shop. Even Grounds.  The moniker was humorous and spoke volumes of the protection it served along side some of the best damn coffee around.  Contracting out to a local pastry shop for their confections.

Now, Emmelyn is busy working on grooming her son to one day challenge for the position of Ulfric.  She knows Christopher has the potential and the hunger for it.
