Overall Appearance: They used to say Kathryn was lovely, fairly tall with a nice figure, long dark hair and deep brown eyes.  Looking late 20's to early 30's, she could turn the heads of college boys to middle aged men alike.  She was the envy of the pack and her smile could charm the heart as much as her glare could strike terror.
But since the attack, she has become a bit more reserved; hiding the right side of her face with her hair.  Those that get a glimpse behind her hair have seen the grotesque scars of claw marks down the right side of her face.  Starting just below the hairline, they follow down the side of her face, cheek, down her jaw leaving her eye cloudy white. She rarely if ever smiles now though only the left side of her face shows the emotions since the damage to the right side nerves left that side of her face paralyzed.
As a wolf, she is a beautiful grey color with black patches.  She is not too terribly big as far as the pack goes, but she has power and strength in her limbs as well as a surgeon's hand-eye coordination.  She cannot hide her scars in the form and they show from just below her right ear, over her eye, and down her snout..

Basic Personality: Kathryn, deep down, is fearless, funny, no nonsense.  She helped rule and protect the pack with both a caring and protective, but stern, hand.  She didn't let the pack members get away with any transgressions without a stern punishment, but she was there for all of them when they needed pack support.
Since the attack, she has become a bit more reserved and shy, but the old her is still in there.  It makes its presence known whenever she is angry, frustrated, stress, or most of all protective.  She is starting to come back out of the shell she put herself in; and as she does, her assertiveness is returning with the desire for the power she had that was taken away from her.

Character Motivations/Goals: Kat is a complicated character.  Used to power she is was cut down and humbled and only now starting to get the urge to regain that power.  She's used to others offering her their necks, not the other way around.  It humiliates her to have to do it herself.  She wants to raise in the pack and secure a position similar to what she had, but she's worried about the depth perception and blind spot and how that would limit her in a challenge.

History:  Kat was the younger of two among the established elite in the deep south.  Her father was an accomplished physician and board member of the top hospital of Greenville, SC.  Her mother was the quintessential southern belle that stayed home with the kids during the day and lead the socialite life at night.  Kat's parents tried to groom her for this life, but she was stubborn and independent, wanting to fallow in her bother and father's footsteps and become a doctor.

Being an average 'A' student throughout her schooling, she enrolled in the University of South Carolina School of Medicine there in Greenville before applying at Greenville Memorial Hospital for surgical residency.  The first week in the residency she had volunteered to assist the on call surgeon in the ER when a gunshot victim was brought in.  She was in the room prepping the patent for surgery when the man woke up and changed into a wolf right there in the operating room.  Kat was clawed before security could put the wolf down with silver bullets.  When the test results came back, it showed she had been infected.

At the tender age of 23, her medical career was all but over.  Her father didn't want to be associated with the infected so he turned her out and cut her off.  Whether it was out of guilt, obligation, or just to keep the hospital out of legal trouble; his last act for her was to convince the board to keep her on at the hospital but away from patients and she was moved down to the morgue.  She would eventually become a medical examiner.

A member of the pack quickly found her when he realized what had happened and helped to bring her into the pack.  John would become her sponsor and help her through the adjustment of becoming a wolf.  She was valued for her medical training and was soon spending part time in the local preternatural clinic.  After a couple of years, she and John got married.  By then, she was becoming an Alpha and John, by then the Freki, saw the time to challenge as Fenrir.  The battle was long and bloody; but in the end, John proved the victor over the aging Ulfric.  They promptly dispatched of the former Lupa, Skoll, and Hati so they couldn't exact revenge and John assumed power with Kat as his Lupa.

Kat quickly grew in power and soon became the strongest female in the pack, only weaker than the Ulfric, Freki, and Bolverk (who scared the living daylights out of her and whom she refused to be left alone with).   It soon turned out that he wasn't her greatest threat as the Geri, in an attempt to undermine the Ulfric, garnered the help of two up and coming Alphas to Corner Kat alone.  One-on-one she would have been able to take them, but the three together were too much for her and they were able to overpower and rape her.  When the Ulfric heard about this, he commanded the Bolverk dispatch of them; but Kat begged John to let her handle it and in the end he relented.  Over the next couple nights, Kat hunted them down one by one and beat each down, breaking an arm and a leg of the young alphas and nearly killing the Geri as ringleader.  The next day the Geri left the pack but the other two stayed and became great friends with Kat.  No other member even bothered Kat again and the two young alphas eventually became their Skoll and Hati.

Kat was fundamental to the pack as Lupa and helped the Freki protect the pack when the Ulfric was away.  She also served as 'mother' to the newly turned treated the pack's wounds whenever one was injured.  She knew that one day someone would kill John in a challenge, but he was still 40 and she 36 when a brash young kid from Atlanta thought he was ready for his own pack and brought his own entourage to the Lupanar.  She never thought he had a chance, but after a grueling fight that went on for hours, her John fell.  She was in shock looking at her husband's lifeless body when she felt a power hit her that brought her to her knees.  The new Ulfric was baring down on her before she could even react and she felt the pain as a claw ripped through the flesh down her face.  She would have been dead with the next swipe, but the Skoll had tackled the new Ulfric as he yelled out to her "Kat! Run!"  He was doing what he was supposed to be doing, protecting his Lupa.

Kat didn't hesitate knowing that her friend and protector just gave his life that she might live and she quickly shifted with blood pouring down her face and took off into the forest.  With the new Ulfric busy with her Skoll, it was the others he had brought that went after her; but they were nowhere near as strong as their leader and she was able to get away.  The Ulfric had put a lot of his power into the attack and therefore the wounds healing human slow, just barely crusting over and her sight completely gone from her eye now milky white.  She traveled around for a couple of weeks.  She did have thoughts of revenge the first few days, but she eventual realized that that was the way of the pack and it was no use harboring ill feeling for the new Ulfric that had done what she and John had done when he took control of the pack.  From time to time she thought she'd see the old Bolverk, wondering if he was hunting her or maybe it was just her imagination.  Either way, she was a little paranoid and felt like she was running for her life.  Finally she calmed down and sought the protection and familiarity of a new pack to start over in Marquette, MI.

That was two years ago.  She had retired from the power struggle of the pack and was just content with being a part of the pack.  Over the two years, Kat has become a motherly type to the younger wolves taking on the role of sponsor.  Her medical expertise lets her help with the trama that members of the pack incurs, but her disability does cause her trouble with her more delicate work.  Recently though, she has started to get a craving for the power she had lost.
