Karn

A hulking humanoid stands 6'8" weighs 272lb equipped with stylized full plate. It isn't until you get close that you realize that the plate armor and the metal face are part of Karn, not worn.

Karn awoke to find himself alone in a hidden laboratory, one fitted out with gear to produce academical materials, brew potions, build golems, even a forge for weapons and armor. But no other living beings--not even rats or insects. Opening the door, Karn made note of the secret nature of the door release from the outside and found himself in a partially destroyed tower. Searching, he found the entire complex deserted but for some charred corpses. I wouldn't be until later that he would recognize the results of a massive magical feedback. Finding bits and pieces of useful items, Karn retreated to the secret lab. Searching it, he found the notes of his creators. A team of 5 renegade wizards had fortified this tower as an enclave to work on their dream project: Intelligent golems.Unfortunately, their experiments were not approved by the wizard's guild When they attempted to shut down the renegade's experiment, the ensuing arcane battle had too great of an energy release in too small of an area. One of the artifacts that the Guild brought with them reacted--badly. The overload and feedback created a loop that resulted in the annihilation of both sides, severely damaged the tower, and (unknown to any living being) awakened Karn into a not only intelligent golem, but one who is completely self-aware--in other words: alive.

Utilizing the neighboring flora and fauna, Karn began dabbling himself. At first, creating poisons, then potions, and mundane items of use. During this time, he met and befriended the local Druids. One lamented the lack of available non-metal armor, so Karn began crafting that as well as non-metallic magical weaponry for his friends.  Wanting to learn more, but frustrated at the lack of materials by this point, Karn took the advice of his Druid friend, Narthian Goldleaf and moved in secret to the nearest large city. Karn established a chain of shopfronts selling
