Major of the 1st Battalion, the Tramplers, Custos native Sinclair Murphy holds her own amidst her male peers. As formerly the only high ranking female officer in the Regiment, Murphy is no delicate flower. She has a reputation as not only a skilled Mechwarrior with a mind for heavy- and medium-cavalry tactics, but also one of the foulest mouths in the Heart... if not all of the Guards.

Known associate, friend, and sometimes rival of Majors Jack Forrest and Astor Karrde, and Master Sergeant Victor Mattlov, the foursome have a reputation that stretches back to their time in the First Sword Military College. Even this friendship is not sufficient to lure Murphy out to the various official social gatherings held throughout the year, however, as she is notorious for dodging out of any engagement where her attendance is not strictly required.
