Mayana

Mayana is slender with almost elfin features, wide black eyes, a smattering of freckles across her pert nose, and short, unruly reddish-brown hair.
Her demon form resembles nothing quite so much as a humanoid pangolin.

Personal Colors:
She favors red and black, and left to her own would prefer peasant blouses and skirts or breeches to more courtly attire.  She prefers to avoid ornamentation, except for the simple coppery ring she wears on her right hand (her artifact, a present from her uncle Tsorvy).  She uses her maternal family coat of arms, quartered with the royal arms of Amber, as a personal symbol...differencing her family coat with a barre sinister as a reminder of her status.

Background:
Mayana is the illegitimate (?) daughter of Prince Bleys of Amber and a noblewoman of Chaos.  Her upbringing in Chaos was been anything but nurturing, her treatment drifting between imprisonment and benign neglect.  She was only permitted to see her mother a handful of times, the last time at that lady's funeral.  Her only ally on her mother's side, so far as she has ever been aware, has her mother’s brother Tsorvy, who holds a certain power apart from his status as a member of the House, and who has took it upon himself to see to it that she learned some swordplay, riding, and camp-craft.

For all other matters, her education was been a thing of rags and patches: her kinfolk did not put a high priority on teaching her anything useful, and might not have allowed her to learn to read and write if they could have justified leaving her that ignorant.  Ironically, she was been painstakingly taught protocol and etiquette, history, and the full public genealogies of the Major Houses lest she embarrass her mother’s kin should they be forced to allow her to be seen in public.  This also included a fair amount of information on the Royal House of Amber, mostly for the sake of being thorough, but what she knew was originally slanted toward a pro-Brand point of view.

Having quite recently been introduced to her kin in Amber, her sire, and her half-siblings, she is still deciding how she feels about all this.  In general, though, she finds her new family more welcoming than her Grandsire and responds accordingly.  Bleys, at least, allowed her to attend a proper boarding school...
