Al is a rather imposing figure, he's six foot four, with a solid, muscular build. Though he's broad at the shoulders, his physique is extremely lean and sleek. The overall effect would be that of a prowling feline, yet is made alien by a distressing fluidity of motion. His eyes are black and have no pupils, his ears taper to points, poking up through his ivory white hair. His complexion is unnaturally white, rather than the bluish cast of a corpse.

When going out, he tends to either wrap up warm or be blatantly obvious. When wrapped up in cold weather or through other contrivances he can pass fairly easily for a normal person. When he has to be less constricted, he opts for a full goth look, with a flowing black trenchcoat, painted fingernails and piercings. The prominent fangs, ethereal skin tone, inhuman eyes and radiant aura of otherworldliness aren't makeup, but the whole get-up makes it a little easier to pass them off. His preferred clothes are more utilitarian and simple, t-shirts, work shirts, jeans and boots.

He's a historian by vocation, with a focus on the Renaissance. An outlet of his rigorous historical studies is a keen interest in Medieval and Renaissance martial arts, such studies as are keenly suited to his impressive stature. He's a masterful swordsman and a sublime dancer. He has a natural talent for languages, speaking seven fluently and able to pick up snippets of others.
