Born in the Meshan colony, she was just a 10 year old child when the Vilani destroyed his home and many of his family.  Since then, she determined she would never be stuck on a planet again, and has never lived on one since. The psycological pain of the experience saw a minor labotomy that removed the joy and pain section of her brain, and she now lives a relatively normal life. Her devotion to her work makes her one of the best navigators in the Galaxy.
