General Appearance: Considered relatively above average in height amongst his own people, Kohaku is lucky to have direct eye contact with average Breiton women. His form appears slight, especially while hidden by the voluminous trends in fashion and armour native to his land. The reality of his stature is more akin to wiry than scrawny however. Little extraneous tissue rests between skin and hard muscle, formed through extensive, rigorous use. Age has gradually weathered and matured skin, though it continues to exude softness over ruggedness.

The deceptively slight build, coupled with facial features resting nearer androgynous than masculine have caused many to mistake his true gender. It seems effort needs to be taken in appearance preparation to disillusion the onlooker. Smooth skin with delicately angled cheekbones and lips almost sensually too full, exacerbate the impression if silky black shoulder length hair is left to its own devices. Traditional topknot was done away with long ago, in favor of a pony tail to remove shadow and tighten skin of his face. Only then does the vision of gender ambiguity favor more masculine traits.

Personality: Mutable as physical characteristics can appear, so is Kohaku’s mentality. More often than not, respect will be afforded others but that can change suddenly. Reception to his outward attitude will dictate future dealings with any said person. He cares little for hearsay regarding another’s behaviour, figuring he is a well enough judge of character by how one presents themselves. A full range of healthy expression can be exuded by the young man as the situation dictates.

About Your character: Kohaku was born into a minor family with strong ties to those higher in rank. His developmental years were spent learning the traditional arts associated with the warrior caste. Extra tutelage less known by the masses was also given light, so Kohaku might learn more than what was filtered and fed to lower castes. He became learned in the limited knowledge gained from individuals hosted by the Chikaran Empire. All teachings were approached with eager ambition in an effort to raise the status of his family.

As a member of the warrior caste he had a responsibility to the land and people it held. Though many were quick to cast a judgemental eye due to appearance, Kohaku rose to every challenge he was faced. His standing grew quickly and in time found himself in the favour of the Daimyo presiding over his prefecture. The rise came to an abrupt halt however as the Daimyo was assassinated in the midst of a personal mission given to Kohaku.

The act sent those under the Daimyo into conflict as many families struggled to gain possession of the vacant title. As the prefecture continued to crumble under tension, much of Yukimura’s status dwindled away and Kohaku became a primary target. In an effort to keep the young man safe, he was sent abroad with a missive addressed to one, to his family's friend. Although relatively unknown to Kohaku the man was, having only been a part of groups who learned under him; his family kept some ties with infrequent contact. They hoped as graciousness was shown him, so he to would be willing to return the favour.
