Goblin Queen

Character Aliases: Gwen, Goblin Queen (no legal identity)
Age: Early twenties (estimated biological age)
Known Family & Associates: As a clone-- and a very recent clone at that-- Gwen has no meaningful family and few close associates. She retains fragmentary and contradictory memories from her genetic templates that predispose her to certain attitudes toward their associates: primarily, this applies to the Rasputin, Parker, and Osborn families, the former members of the New Mutants, and the denizens of Limbo.

Description: (As Gwen) A stone-faced young woman with shoulder-length blonde-green hair and strikingly large and vibrant green eyes; she wouldn't be mistaken for Illyana Rasputin or Gwen Stacy by anyone who knew them, but could easily pose as a sister to either. She stands approximately 5'7" tall with a prizefighter's build, weighing around 160 pounds. Gwen's typical civilian "attire"-- a sorcerous glamour-- is a black leather biker jacket (which hides her slender, prehensile tail) and knee-high engineer's boots over a tank top and leggings. In public, she usually wears a green-and-purple headscarf to cover her small horns. Even in her normal human form, Gwen can summon her soulsword, a cruciform two-handed broadsword that is nearly as tall as she is.

(As Goblin Queen) Gwen's horns grow into ram horns that curl up and back around her head; her eyes grow to ridiculously exaggerated size and turn solid white, while her skin turns dark green, her hair grows down to her waist-- and starts moving on its own-- while her clothing transforms into a hooded, tattered crimson cloak over a purple tunic and cavalier boots. As the Goblin Queen, Gwen cackles maniacally, taunting her enemies and encouraging her friends-- or, frequently enough, vice versa-- and revels in the thrill of conflict and danger.

Personality: Gwen seems initially to be incredibly reserved and quiet, but when she speaks she can be remarkably blunt and direct. Despite her flat affect, she has a wry sense of humor and loves cracking (extremely dry, deadpan) jokes. Gwen struggles to express herself verbally, and prefers to demonstrate her feelings and her intentions through action. As the Goblin Queen, she is confident and aggressive, throwing herself into battle with a sense of ecstatic joy rather than any spite or malice.

History: As a very recently created artificial person, Gwen doesn't have much personal history. She was created by Sinister as a solution for rapid-insertion troop deployment-- more than her own personal combat abilities-- based on genetic samples sourced from the Essex Foundation and OSCORP. The psychological and spiritual "baggage" of the tainted OSCORP samples marked Gwen as "inconvenient" and "defective"; she was marked for termination, but escaped before she was killed. After a couple of weeks of aimless wandering and a chance encounter with a longtime friend and ally of the X-Men, she turned up on the literal doorstep of the Xavier Mansion begging for sanctuary.

Powers: Goblin Queen has strength, stamina, agility and reflexes enhanced moderately beyond human capacity. Her main powers, however, are powerful clairvoyant and precognitive senses, the ability to teleport by opening instantaneous or short-term portals through Limbo, and the ability to summon (and throw) her soulsword, razor darts, and explosive blasts of hellfire.

(Possible Future Development:) Flight via summoning a mystical goblin glider. Sonic attacks (destructive and disorienting harmonics) based on goblin laughter. Expanded (but limited, substantially less than omega-level) telepathic, telekinetic, and clairvoyant abilities via the Goblin Force.

Mundane Skills: Designed and trained as a living weapon, Gwen lacks a number of practical real-world skills outside of what she might have inherited from her genetic templates and supernatural influences: she possesses an intuitive, practical grasp of mystical and cosmic forces and factions, but not the underlying maths and sciences; she is a natural (possibly supernatural) polyglot who speaks conversationally fluent English, Russian, French, Latverian, and has a functional grasp of numerous ancient and occult languages. Gwen is a talented artist, musician, and dancer-- betraying the sensitive soul beneath her flat and emotionless affect.

Weaknesses: As mentioned above, Gwen has marked difficulties with emotional communication and she has obvious physical mutations that need to be concealed in public. Her powers expose her to hostile extradimensional environments and beings, and the circumstances of her creation embroil her in the machinations of mystical and eugenic supervillains. The conflicting memories of Gwen's multiple genetic templates and Sinister's manipulations sometimes leave her confused about where she stands with people from her genetic donors' lives.

Character Voice: As Gwen. As the Goblin Queen.
