Lt (jg) Prashanthi Rai

Lieutenant Rai is a human female in her mid-thirties, standing a modest 1.6 meters, with a dark complexion, brown eyes, high cheekbones and wavy black hair which she wears up while on duty. She has a habit of keeping her sleeves rolled up, a tendency she picked up during her time at the Academy doing lab practicals. Despite her rational, almost mechanistic view of the universe, she has inherited a casual interest in philosophy from her father and his colleagues, and can often be found debating questions of ethics, ontology and metaphysics with anyone willing to engage her. She is also an amateur musician with a particular fondness for the mid-to-late Earth style of music known as ‘rock and roll’, and spends most of her allotted holodeck time playing the bass guitar to a packed Wembley Stadium alongside such masters of the genre as Eric Clapton, Janis Choplin, Jimi Hendrix and John Bonham.
