Jonah Raische

Jonah Raische is the adopted half-elven son of a Maester Bard also named Jonah Raische. It is a family barding tradition to name their true or adopted children the same name, to keep the name going as well as to potentially have multiple generations of bards playing festivals using the name. Always working the scam underneath.

Jonah grew up on the streets of Karcau, a half-elven boy, who was the bastard son of a local woman and an elf who was just passing through. His mother worked the streets and died of disease early in Jonah's life. She worked in a tavern that was frequented by the senior Jonah, who liked the boy's quick wit and attitude. After his mother died, Jonah adopted the boy and gave him his name as the family tradition dictated, and taught him the skills and legacy of being a bard/troubador for the land.

The elder Jonah travelled the lands, and when in Lepidstadt he became friendly with Judge Embereth Daramid, once or twice having the younger Jonah in tow. Unfortunately the previous winter was hard on the elder Jonah, who was in his 70s, and he passed away. The younger bard is travelling the lands, playing and performing, but also visiting his father's contacts respectfully telling them of his passing (and of course attempting to inherit his father's steady working gigs).

Jonah is a likeable rouguish sort, a bit of a scoundrel, ladies man, and one who isn't above a touch of trickery or thievery if he thinks it is worth it, or noble in some way. He wants to earn a decent living, but isn't overly concerned with accumulating wealth or power. He has a strong sense of wanting to help others, but doesn't always stick his neck out to do so.

He is about 5'6, with fair skin, pronounced elven ears, deep green eyes, and brown hair, typically pulled back in a pony tail. He is thin and wiry, not physically imposing, but carries a bit of general knowledge and sense about him that can make others uneasy or intimidated.
