Lady Jenella din-Brevarion grew up on an iron-age world, the daughter of a powerful noble. Archery was treated as healthy exercise by most aristocratic women, but Jenella practiced assiduously and proved to have an uncanny knack for it.

In truth, she practiced hard because she was bored of her aristocratic lifestyle, and chafed at the restrictions placed upon her. She had a romantic notion of what life on the barbarian fringes of society must be like, wild and free.

Hunts provided one of her few escapes from the dull, stifling atmosphere in court. Although the hunts were carefully organised, she could at least pretend she was living like a barbarian for a time.
