Tsuya is a touch short and small-framed for an asari. She has an athletic build, and is deep blue in color. She often wears pseudo-gothic styles and dark colors.

Tsuya's mother, Soari Trisena, worked as a security technition for the presidium docks. Her 'father', Hikaru Hamada, was a pilot for the Alliance's first diplomatic missions to the Citadel. He met Tsuya's mother during that mission, and their union resulted in one of the first human/asari offspring.

Tsuya's parents died during the geth's attack on the Citadel. When that happened, she was supported by the Asari Republics, and became an acolyte of Sha'ira, the asari matron known as 'The Consort'.
