Description
Taliesin is a tall; thin man, pale and sallow.
He has prominent cheekbones,a well-defined nose and ears that stick out a bit; as well as dark circled, blue eyes.

His untidy mop of lightly-curling, jet black hair has been allowed to grow too long. He is frequently unshaven, yet rarely seen in a respectable beard.
He alternates between constant motion; fidgeting, tapping, knuckle popping, and periods of unnerving stillness.

Whether an affect of his eccentricity or an attempt to hide some form of  physical defects, Taliesin is almost never seen without a pair of Pince-nez with dark green lenses and cloth or leather gloves.

Background:
Taliesin Iwan Gwynne; Duke Of Cardiff, Earl of Windsor, Viscount Mountjoy,
and Marquess of the County of Bute.

Wealthy orphaned scion of the Gwynne family; originally of small fishing
town in Wales, United Kingdom. The family owes their wealth to a
ancestor who made his wealth as a Commercial Fisherman in the early 1700s.

The Gwynne family is more recently based in Cardiff; now Artists, Scholars and Philanthropists, much of the family have died mad in Asylum, died of substance abuse, or disappeared mysteriously.

Taliesin's parents died when he was little more than an infant, victims of
a mysterious blaze that destroyed the costly and decaying ancestral
manse; also eliminating Taliesin's teenage sister. Taliesin was sent by
the next custodial relatives (a pair of elderly aunts
living in London) to a series of boarding and finishing schools.

When he came into his own fortune, at the age of majority, Taliesin found himself with no home as such to return to other than aunts he hardly knew. Hoping to find himself, or at least an adventure, Taliesin set out for British Controlled Hong Kong, where he found (for a time) money, appreciation and celebrity acting as a popular spirit medium.

After an incident in which he rid a British Consulate's wife of the spirit of a possessive, former lover (thoroughly embarrassing her husband in the process) he was made to leave Hong Kong.
Suddenly beset by an ineligible passport and other legal issues;
Taliesin found himself ejected from the only place that had ever felt
like home.
He ended up like many of his fellow Expatriates, seeking a new life
and a new start in America; eventually settling in San Francisco, eventually
finding himself yet again both generally suspect and celebrated as a Medium.

Cousin to a Chicago high society family going by the surname Gwynn, known for the odd, eccentric among their number.
