Nimbus

Derek Haas was a soldier, then a student, and finally a paramedic, using his skills to help and heal the people of Center City.  One night, called to the scene of a shooting, he had to choose between protecting his patient, and protecting his life;  he chose his patient, and paid the price.

Shot, and hovering on the brink of death, Derek had a vision.  A being of light appeared to him, and offered him the chance to help his city in ways he'd never imagined would be possible.  Derek woke, to find his wounds healed, and with the ability, by speaking the phrase "Yehi'or", to transform himself into the Nimbus, a glowing champion of light.

Using his newfound powers, Derek hopes to clean up the city, and make it safe for decent people once again.  Naive, new to the role of hero, and idealistic, he relies on guidance from more experienced colleagues to help him find his way.
