[VtM5e] Blood Red Moon - Chicago

Chicago's history is built upon blood and fire. Starting with the massacre of Fort Dearborn in 1803 growing into a city with literal blood flowing through the streets as the meat industry grew the city from an outpost to a metropolis of the 1800's. In 1871 the Chicago fire ripped through the city destroying more then 18,000 buildings in a less than two days time. The turn of the century brought prohibition and Chicago gave birth to the infamous mobster Al Capone who bathed the city in blood in his ruthless attempt to control the city's underground.

The next 100 years was relatively peaceful for the mortals but behind the scenes the undead that preyed upon the city were waging a war themselves. The Great Chicago Fire was an opportunity for the Ventrue Lodin to seize control of the city from the first Prince, Maxwell and drive him from the city. Then as Lodin consolidated control the city became the front lines in the Camarilla's ongoing battles against the Anarachs and twice the Anarchs invaded the city in force only to be driven out first by Lodin's forces and then by Archons sent to secure the city proper.

After this period of time came what is called the Cauchemar Praxis, a time of peace that has stretched nearly 50 years. The turn of the millenia happened and the whole vampire community braced itself for Gehenna but it never came. Instead time and the world continued to march on from 1999 to 2000 without much of a hiccup and so Lodin continued his obsession to control the city as tightly as possible.

In 2012 came a great reckoning. With Gehenna looming Lodin pushed his power too far when a few isolated incidents with the local werewolves ignited into a full-fledged war. The Masquerade was pushed to the breaking point and Lodin began to unravel trying to keep control. In the end he slipped up and, depending on who you talk to, he was murdered by a warband of lupines, a Sabbat death squad, or betrayed by one of his own childer.

December of 2012 also begat what some would end up calling "the Glitch". Mortals were completely ignorant of it but Vampires and other supernaturals vaguely remember the world coming to an end...and then continuing on as normal. Mortals and supernatural alike disappeared and some who had died suddenly reappeared with fuzzy memories. Something big happened but nobody could remember what it was.

After a few years of ruling by the Primogen the media mogul Joseph Peterson seized power as the new Prince much to the surprise of the city. He made grand promises but after only a few years it became clear he wouldn't be able to deliver and Kevin Jackson, one of Lodin's youngest childer, suddenly emerged with the backing of the Primogen to seize the throne and exile Joseph.

It has been one year since Jackson has seized and solidified power and now his domain is already under attack. The lupines are done licking their wounds from the last war and are looking to reclaim lost territory. The Second Inquisition is sweeping the country and whole cities are going dark, elders and neonates alike being raided by anti-terrorist task forces. Now the Lasombra, or parts of it, are fleeing the Sabbat and are requesting formal admission into the Camarilla, fleeing the out-of-control Sabbat that have descended fully into madness.

Now it is 2010 and the city has grown tired of peace. On the outskirts of the city the werewolves that had been violently displaced are gathering in numbers. Within the city Anarchs are once again slipping through the borders and biding their time. The city's Primogen are growing tired of being marginalized by Lodin and his ever-growing brood. The time is ripe for change and the streets of Chicago are once again thirsting for blood...

This will be a Vampire: the Masquerade 5th edition game based out of Chicago.
Players will primarily play as Camarilla, either newly sired or newly immigrated to the city.

This is a continuation of the V20 game although there is a 9 year time skip so both new players and returning players alike are welcome to apply. No knowledge of the system is necessary as this is a new edition. I can provide links to quick start rules as well as assisting with the mechanical aspect of the game.
