Personality: James is a nice guy who hides a side to him that he keeps very quiet. He is kind and caring to his friends and family. He is cruel and very very hostile to his enemies. He keeps his word which he considers to be very important.

Powers:
Master of Magick-James is a true master of magick. He has learned many spells and mastered them all.

Forced Immortality- James has gone to extreme lengths to keep himself alive for so long. Ultimately James used magick to imbue his heart with a spell that acts as a curse. His heart will start up again if it stops beating but at a cost. The cost is that part of his soul slips away every time his heart stops beating.

Shadow Servant- James’s shadow is an entity of its own. It obeys James absolutely and to no end. His shadow can and will attack on command or when James’ life is threatened.

Eyes of Truth- James has enchanted his eyes to always see the truth. He can see beings for what they are. He can also see in the dark perfectly and can see up two miles away clearly.

Living Tattoos- James’s tattoos are of living animals. They can come alive by ripping themselves off of James’ skin. They take on their normal animal size within the span of one and half minutes after they are freed from James’s skin. The animals he has tattooed are a tiger, a grizzly bear, two ravens, a crocodile, eight black widow spiders, a reticulated python, and a large alaskan timber wolf.

Artifacts of Power- James always carries a items that have been enchanted to give James extra help. The items are as followed below.
Necklace of Wings- Gives James the ability to fly whenever he wants.
Ring of Frost (Left Hand)- Allows James to conjure ice and snow. Also gives him immunity to the cold.
Ring of Dragonfire (Right Hand)- Allows James to conjure fire that burns as hot as dragonfire. He can also control the fire as well.

James’s Spellbook- James’s Spellbook is a rather unique. To anyone other than James the book appears empty but when he opens it the ink on the pages reveals itself to him. Also his spells don’t show up in order as they were written down. The spell he wants will always show up first and in his a random language. If anyone other than James tries to destroy his spellbook the book will appear to heal whatever damage has been done. His spellbook is only the size of a small notebook.

Background: James was born after the Salem witch trials. He was raised by a witch. His father was a normal man who was seduced and used by his mother. His father had died after James’s first birthday. Once James turned eighteen his mother burned alive by a inquisitor. James found his mother dead after returning home from a night with a lovely young woman. When he got home he found his mother and home burned to ashes. The rage he felt ignited his magick and caused his power emerge. His mother’s familiar was a owl. The owl could speak and taught James how to use his magick like his mother would want. Once a few past James found he could master any spell he happened across.

When he turned 29 James came upon a witch hunter and was stabbed in the gut near death he saw the ghost of his mother. She told him to make himself immortal and master all magick. Dark magick, light magick, and all the stuff in between. He did just that but the cost was his soul. Every time his heart stopped beating a piece of his soul would fade away but his heart would start up again.

Once he made a name of himself as wizard/warlock James traveled to Grimmstone and got a job working at the graveyard in Grimmstone.
