Our world is dying, not by leaps and bounds but by inches as it's soul stands still and rots. So I did what I had to do, I played the greatest trick. I stole the gatekeepers key and opened the way between your world and ours, we need a new breed of heroes, with a new breed of power...the crests fuel them...so I and other like minded digimon give our lives to give you a new source of power, the crests of sin. They are hidden from those who would destroy them. Find them, use them...do not shy away, the digital world needs you...this shall be the greatest joke, I wish I could be there to see the punchline..." - Piedmon The Digital World is at peace...too peaceful. A group of Mega Vaccine-type digimon for a while were acting to stop another dark lord from rising up, but their data started to get corrupt and they began pushing it too far. Order became oppression, protection became a prison, and the Digital World which thrives on chaos, began to stagnate and rot. Until Piedmon, looking to break the strangle hold on the digital world, stole the gate key and along with like minded digimon, sacrificed their lives to summon a new set of destined in order to break the stagnation and fix the digital world. However, these destined are different, not idealistic children but people who have scars, mental and physical, people who resonate with a new set of crests made to fight the originals which power the powers that be, the Sin crests. Technically this is an "evil" game, but more along the lines that the players are agents of chaos in an order vs. chaos struggle, rather than good vs. evil.
