The outer self

Richard is polite, courteous, friendly and happy go lucky. He sometimes has a tendancy to use self-deprecating humour. He is often seen to be champion of the underdog and strives for fairness in any given situation.

Richard harbours a fair degree of insecurity, brought on by his childhood which was problematic. He does his best to hide this but it can sometimes manifest itself around thouse he considers better than him. Deep down he is a hopless romantic and strives to make deep human connections. TWO C - FAMILY AND HISTORY

Born in Swansea to Alexander David Hawthorne, a lawyer, and Sarah Louise Hawthorne (originally Lavander), a doctor. Richard spent a lot of his school years as the victim of bullying which had an affect on his confidence but which prompted him to take up Aikido as a form of self defence. By the time he was in sixth form he had managed to collect a group of close friends, all of whom were social misfits like himself. He had a serious relationship with a fillipino girl by the name of Maria Delores that lasted two years but they split up about a year ago when Maria left for the U.S. to become a teacher.

Richard didn't quite make the grade for Uni so he spent 3 years working as an computer technician whilst studying part time to get the grades for uni. He also played guitar and sang in the local club circuits and by the time he reached 21 had formed a band alongside a polish female drummer called Asia Powlowska who he became goid friends with.

Richard and Asia have both enrolled into Black Oak where they hope to reform their band.
