RG-813 ("Archie")
a.k.a CLOUD


DESCRIPTION
The entity known as RG-813 is actually a colony of nanobots that can take almost any form or shape.

What he thinks of as "Archie Mode" is a human-like form of average height and average build and features that are close enough to human so as not to make people uncomfortable, but not human enough to pass as one (he doesn't like actually pretending to be a human unless he has to). He is able to mimic clothing and accessories as easily as facial features, and he has extensively studied earth fashion and clothing standards. No matter the occasion, he is always appears impeccably dressed.

When working the Day Shift, he adopts "Cloud Mode" which is a tall, broad, imposing, metallic humanoid figure in with basic features wearing a functional body-suit emblazoned with the logo of the Century Cadre.

PERSONALITY
Archie is unfailingly courteous, infinitely empathetic and compassionate, but also distant. It's his job (his purpose) to care for humans, and understand them, but he is not human. And so he can sometimes seem like an aloof academic of sorts, looking in from the outside.

BACKSTORY
Archie awoke on earth with no knowledge of his makers or his homeworld, but with an irresistible urge to study and care for the earth and everything on it. He knew he was capable of adapting to any environment, had the capacity to gather and analyze immense amounts of data, the ability to heal organic life and to operate even the most alien technology.

It seems likely to him that he is a research tool of some kind. Perhaps his makers send beings like him throughout the galaxy to study and learn (the question of how he is meant to 'report back' is one that occupies him often). What he doesn't know is whether his makers meant for him to land on earth, and his urge to defend humans is intentional, or if his landing here was random and it's all just a side-effect of his programming.

Soon after waking, he made himself known to humanity. There were a number of attempts to take him, hold him, and study him. But he proved almost impossible to hold against his will. Eventually, he made the acquaintance of Maxwell Lord, and became part of the Century Cadre.

KNOWN POWERS AND ABILITIES
Cloud can take almost any form, shape, or appearance, from a tiny ball to a massive dark cloud. He can stretch his limbs into multiple shapes and even detach pieces of himself that can act independently.

Cloud can also link with almost any machine. Once linked, he knows everything about their operation and can operate them with a thought (including, in the case of computers, access all their data and reprogram them).

Other abilities include: super-strength, flight, the ability to heal himself and others, and the ability to generate powerful blasts of light.
