Appearance
Standing at 5'8", with a short mop of strawberry-blonde hair, years of shutting himself in with his work left Adel exceptionally pale, even before the vampirism, save for a stippling of freckles.

Bespectacled and with green eyes as sharp as his new pointed teeth, Adel dresses for comfort, that comfort usually manifesting through heavy coats and big sweaters. He does know how to clean himself up with professional office-wear when he needs to make face-to-face appearances, but opportunities for that have become fewer and fewer.

Personality
Adel can easily become brusk and agitated when on a defensive footing or when faced with the absurd. He often finds that being passively polite gets him easily through most interactions he has with people outside his apartment, but his hair-trigger is easily fired and he's known to fly into tirades.

Skeptical enough to doubt what's right in front of him, Adel loves being right. This is a trait he used to laud a lot louder on his vlogs and long-form video essays, disproving the supernatural, by which he made his living. You know... before the vampirism. He still makes those videos, but now in bad faith, and more often than he'd like, to cover up what has proven to be very real.

Origin
Adel was born in the swamps of Houston, Texas on September 27, 1989. After graduating, he and his dorm-surfing friend would move to find opportunity in the exceedingly haunted town of Rockfall, Colorado. Here he would pawn off his friend on a penpal, to shut himself into a secluded apartment, to devote his every moment to his research and making a living through vlogging and video essays disproving the supernatural. To bring order and logic to the world of horrors that had chased him to seek a domain of sturdy locks.

Those locks wouldn't be enough. His hubris snared the attention of a vampire lord who found it a delightful punchline to turn the skeptic, before being himself killed by a hunter, leaving Adel with few answers about how to escape his undeath.
