M'ek'It'ah

Once a powerful wizard who's skills and spells graced the very halls of those who lived in Ancient Nethril. His skill in evocations was said to be unmatched, and his gifts with moon magic in particular made him something of a celebrity in the Abby of the Moon.  How he came into his lichdom, is said to be a lesson for those who fall for the wrong person.

M'ek'It'Ah was once the husband of Trialiss Moonfire, a spitfire of a woman, but also a Shard of Selune. Having his heart stolen by the Shard, the wizard wed her. Only to discover that while the moon is passionate, there is also some lunacy involved. Trialiss convinced a mage to take her appearance and learn her demeanor to test her husband's fidelity during the full moon phase when she was most manic. Having no reason to doubt his beloved wife, was anyone but whom she claimed she was. She had stepped past his sigils after all. Only he or his wife could grant permission, or gain entrance to their private chambers. It was when things had gone as things do between husband and wife, that she appeared.

In a pique of anger, Trialiss, gave into her darkness, fell from Selune's grace and destroyed her beloved and friend. It is said that Shar took notice of Trialiss and empowered her curse, and a soft spiteful feminine laughter was heard throughout the quarters the pair once shared.

Pain ripped through him and he felt everything fail at once, his very heart ripped from his chest. It turned into a glowing pulsing thing in a cage. Which dropped with a dry thud on the bedroom floor. M'Ek'It'Ah rushed to a mirror, only to find a undead monster staring back at him.

Trialiss, herself was forsaken by Selune, striking the once divine creature from her grace. Trialiss was transformed into a creature of spite and shadow.

Which was in turn bound to the cage that his heart sat. Bound to the man who faithfully loved her.
