Only 18 years old and a petite 5 feet 2 inches and 120 pounds, Rita Duronus is proof that appearances can be deceiving. She was born in Arras and has spent her whole life there. As the youngest child of Honorius Duronus, a prominent priest of Pluto in the city, she grew up with many advantages including a classical education. At a young age, she decided to follow in her father's footsteps and join the Temple of Pluto. Six months after leaving Arras on a quest for her temple, while on a mission in Geneva, she was called by Pluto's wife, Proserpina, to serve as her priestess. There are no other known clerics of Proserpina, and Rita now regards her calling as serving both Pluto and Proserpina. In general, she is serious and somber but also wise and a good listener for those who take the time to get to know her. She is very loyal to her family, her city, the order of Pluto and the Roman pantheon in general and will almost never be heard saying anything negative about people in these communities. Rita has some mediumistic abilities and special compassion for those whom some might view as ghosts, spirits somehow tied to the mortal plane and unable to move on. Her greatest desire is to help these departed cross over and find peace through successful transition to the next world. In appearance, Rita is reasonably attractive though not especially beautiful. She has very dark brown eyes that convey an unusual combination of wisdom and sadness. Her very thick dark brown hair is worn in a braid almost down to her waist. Although she grew up among aristocracy, she avoided most of the mindless parties and socializing so popular among the young and privileged. She will dress in practical, non-flashy clothing when not in clerical robes unless the situation calls for fancy dress. She is somewhat taciturn but not timid and is eager to make her own mark on the world independently of her father and his reputation and resources.
