The Grande Balle
The village of Evesham appears to be a normal English village, and like any village in the 1800's, it is filled with hardworking poor but proud people, serving the estate of their masters, the earl and countess of Evesham upon Lee.

But three nights every week, when darkness has fallen, and the work is done, things take an odd, peculiar turn. Lights go on at the manor, and cloaked and masked figures can be seen headed from the village to the main house. All evening, and well into the night, music and song can be heard, and the joy and laughter of the guests fills the sky.

And were one to look inside, amazement, even shock would overtake one, as there one would see a spectacle of lewdness, debauchery and sin, such as would put a roman Bacchanal to shame. Men and women lie with each other in various rooms, guests and staff walk about in various states of undress and soberness. No act of carnal sin seems above these people. But all, without exception remain masqued and unrecognisable.

But the next morning, as the sun rises above the horizon, all have left for their home, and life goes on as if nothing untoward had happened. The people work, go to service and go about their business, just like in any village in 1800's England.
