A Cry for Help
The multiverse is infinite. But accessing it is near impossible and is often traumatic to even try to cross. But somehow you heard this call. An Earth trying to rebuild after a devastation is being besieged by forces they can't handle and, thanks to the sudden discovery of this technology, have called for help. It's rough but they can open the way...This is really open ended from a background perspective. You can literally do any kind of background you want, build the pts to suit pretty much whatever. You just need to have been willing to help out/cross over. This has the whole "identity" hiding thing (cause people with powers is not normal here!), costume if you want it or none if you don't. Going to go fight, secretly for the government, the threat to their cities and such. This one also has the whole serious plot twist/unknown end bit the further into it you go.
