Physical Description:
Jeffery Chafer is a reclusive character- a Janitor at the college, he only steps outside the college campus occasionally, usually to visit the Empty Bottle Bar.

His hair is very long and lush with a salt and pepper tint. Crows feet and bags under his eyes indicate that he is a late night reader.  He has a clipped, beard that has earned him the nickname ‘The President’. His face is time chiseled and weather beaten.  At times he can seem a bit spiritless, as if life and old age are getting the better of him. The clothes he wears are sometimes ragged and threadbare also, as if he is giving in to the passage of time and is unconcerned about his appearance- Which gives him the other nickname- Dusty- Usually held by his friends.

His hand becomes clenched when the cold winds of winter bite the air. His fingers get knotty. When he smiles, his face is totally transformed and the years drop away from his face. His eyes are bright, cerulean-green and his teeth despite his age gleam like piano keys.

Distinguishing Features:
Jeffery's most notable feature is his beard.  It's what most people remember about him- either that or his wisdom.  He is an unofficial mentor at the college.  Many graduate students seek him out, and he is usually surrounded by more than one of them as he goes about his duties around the college grounds.

The Human
Personality:
Jeffery Chafer, despite being the janitor, is possibly the wisest man at the college- at least that is what the students believe.  Students struggling with college life are regularly recommended by their peers to seek out the old man to get his advice.

Chafer is a quiet man.  He does a great deal more listening than speaking, but when he does speak it usually comes out in some sort of a story.  To those who are impatient, he can be aggravating because he rarely gets to the point until he has amused himself.  He is an old soul and fairly laid back in the way he approaches things.  Time has taught him to not jump at problems.  They usually sort themselves out and don't have to be managed.

He is the stabilizer of the council. He mediates between the personalities, and usually has a sense of humor about things.  His major opponent, of course being Felicia, he watches her carefully.  One can never truly trust a demon- no matter how reformed.

The Story
Character Background:
No one exactly knows when Jeffery Chafer started working at the College.  The Faculty has rotated so many times, that he is a figure of myth and legend in the school.  Some say he's been working there since he was a student expelled- some believe he was a professor once who retired and decided to take care of the flowers.

The truth is he is the Angel Raziel.  After being scribe to God, he retired here to the University to as he puts it "take care of things."  He doesn't intervene much.  He did that once and it caused a big mess in the garden.  He has been on the Council almost as long as the council has been in existence.  He is a relaxed soul, but can be powerful when he wants to be.  For the most part he is content to tend to the flowers and trees at the University.
