Machaon is a towering brute of a man, square shouldered and square jawed. His face has no beauty to it, never handsome before becoming an Angel of Death, the process only flattened and transformed his features into more of a brute. A wide, flat nose and cheek bones leave no doubt to his transhuman nature. His head is shaved bald, skull somewhat lumpy. Several thin wires extend from the base of his skull down his back, evidence of the Butcher’s Nail implants in his brain. His mouth is filled with teeth replaced with sharpened and pointed, bronze and brass implants.

Without his armor, one can see the unnatural augmentation of his musculature as he appears bulked up beyond reason. Numerous scars criss cross his body, and it is also marked by the numerous bio-mechanical ports that make his Black Carapace augmentation so noticeable.

His armor is multi-colored, a rust red almost like old blood. It has bronze and brass trim on the gauntlets, vambraces, chest plate, and greaves. One heavy plated shoulder had a brass colored spiked maw closing over a continental world, while the other had a bronze colored symbol of Khorne. One arm was largely devoted to the narthecium, this one with the Hagen pattern drill, and reductor- the primary equipment the Astartes apothecaries used to both assist in battlefield medicine and to harvest the gene seed of fallen marines.
