The year is 3025, decades of constant warfare among the successor states have worn down available resources.  Humanity stays united through tenuous threads of communications between civilized planets.

Out in the periphery these threads of communications are particular fragile and vulnerable.

Planet Noble, a planet of note in the Pirate belt of Star's End has managed to date to retain some semblance of civility.  A well known point of neutrality where assorted unsavory factions come to do business, legitimate and otherwise.

Recent events have broken the status quo.

The discovery of a supply depot that once served the 20th Star League Defense Force has been both a blessing and a curse.  The technology wealth has proven iresisitable drawing out pirate elements from all corners of the Belt.

The timely 'accident' at the Comstar HPG has cut off communications with the Inner Sphere.

While the great houses continue to have their succession wars in the inner sphere, the pirate belt is about to have their own grand melee.
