On a Knife's Edge
The city is twisted and dark, wreathed in perpetual night in a shattered world without a sun. A group of daring scoundrels dare to hope that they can carve themselves a legacy by building a criminal enterprise on the haunted streets of the industrial-fantasy city of Duskwall.

Heists, chases, escapes, dangerous bargains, blood skirmishes, deceptions, betrayals, victories, and deaths await them. Dare you play to find out if this fledgling crew can thrive amidst the teeming threats of rival gangs, powerful noble families, vengeful ghosts, the Bluecoats of the City Watch, and the siren's song of their own vices?

Dream big dreams my fellow pauper, and come with me on a journey from rags to riches; if you have the wits, brawn, and luck to make it so.


Players will create their character as normal. They will choose a name, gender, heritage, history, and archetype.

Collectively the initial crew will choose what everyone else will call their gang and what type of criminal they are to start; Are you Bravos, mercenaries who are hired out as extra muscle, to execute extortion, sabotage, smash & grabs, and more? Are you Hawkers; procuring and selling the many vices rampant in Duskwall? Cold-hearted assassins who manufacture accidents, disappearances, murder and randsom?
While all of these activities are currently covered by other gangs, there's plenty to go around, no? And besides, you're better than they are, right? Your crew will choose one activity to start in, but perhaps you'll decide on more? Take the small step into one first.

All crews have a reputation, what is yours? Are you all Ambitious, targeting higher Tier targets? Will you be taking on the Daring scores that others deem too risky? Perhaps you are all overly interested in the Strange weirdness of the Dusk? Reputation is important and this is your beginning.

You aren't a crew without a lair. You've already managed to acquire one, where does it happen to be? Are you holed up in a half-sunken grotto in the city's maze-like underground canals? Maybe an abandoned watch tower atop an ancient, crumbling wall? The unassuming back rooms of a merchant shop you or someone close owns? Even a junked rail-car, rusted in place on its old, overgrown tracks is a viable spot to start. What did you choose and which district is it in?

These are your characters and your crew. I have created your opportunity, but you make the choices. There is no pre-planned story arc. You all get to choose what you do and how the story unfolds, I will tell you what Fate has in store for your actions.
