Personality:
Jonathan is a mixture of two personalities really. He is often friendly and boisterous around others but when alone he becomes quite serious and studious. His often friendly manner and absent-mindedness are mainly for show as he does not wish anyone to know of his practice in the Arcane Arts. He loves gossiping with the locals at the tavern. He has an Irishman, Thomas O'Brien, who runs the farm really. He uses Irish Indentured Servants to farm his land and sees that they gain their own farmland once their seven-year service is through. So he is very loyal but can be devious as well. Like his playacting as a lackwit absentminded fop for all but a few to see.

History/background:
A young son of an English family who was given a governorship in Northen Ireland and title of Baron. Young Jonathan Barnwell, the Baron's third son and therefore unlikely to inherit the title/lands, came to America/ The Colonies to make a name for himself and be away from prying eyes... and to better practice magic you see. He owns a farm just outside of town and a member of the landed gentry.

Jonathan studied law at Oxford and it was there that he became acquainted with magic. Though he is still at the apprentice level, Jonathan is determined to advance to the Master's level one day. Until then, he continues to live as most English Gentry do... off the backs and sweat of others.
