For three generations, the Ironborn of House Hoare have ruled over both the Iron Islands and the Riverlands, expanding their control of this mainland region from the shores of Ironman's Bay to the Bay of Crabs. Harwyn Hoare, styling himself the King of the Isles and the Rivers began the conquest, his son Halleck Hoare continued it, and now his grandson Harren Hoare continues that grand ambition, holding both the Iron Islands as well as the Riverlands under his tyrannical grasp.Harren the Black, or Black Harren as he was sometimes called, is by many accounts the most feared king in Westeros, and his cruelty has become legendary throughout the Seven Kingdoms. Desiring a grander seat than the tower in Fairmarket from which his father had ruled, King Harren began the construction of what looked to be the largest castle in Westeros, if it ever was completed. Over three dozen years in the making, Harrenhal as it was to be called, is still under construction, yet close enough to completion that the grand vision can be glimpsed.
The player characters will play members of a minor House in the Riverlands, living under King Harren's boot-heel.
