GM Background

I have run brief (several months' duration) games in Palladium, Cthulhu, AD&D 2ed, and homebrew. I have run a two-year campaign using the Dominion system (based on d12), which I quite like. And I had a four-year campaign on another play-by-post site. During college (1989-1993), I ran a weekly AD&D 2ed campaign.

Players in my games tend to become involved at a meta-level in addition to the in-character level. Often, my players contribute to the setting by opening up new locales via exploration and settlement. My players' characters also tend to become invested in the NPCs, factions, and causes of their settings.
