A rather plain looking young man, somewhere in his mid-twenties, Carver puts minimal effort into appearance beyond the functional.  He invests just enough time to be presentable without wasting valuable time on the frivolities that lack an obvious purpose.  The young man keeps his auburn hair cut short and his usual dress is likewise subdued and ordinary, consisting of mostly darker shades of umber.  These seems conscious choices of a young man who is well aware he'll never be the most dashing prince at the ball and has no interest in striving to be.

He is almost remarkable in his blandness; "blessed" without the obvious features of his kin he passes as human easily enough save and except for a slightly raised spine and an obvious infernal birthmark where his tail should be. His brown eyes, which used to sparkle with intelligence, now house unvarnished cynicism with every glance and the corners of his mouth are almost always on the verge of self-congratulatory scowl.  It's the mark of a man who expects to be disappointed and is rarely proven wrong.
