Emma Huskisson

NAME: Emma Huskisson
AGE: 18
OCCUPATION: Works at the Chippy
RELATIONSHIP STATUS: 'Sort of' going out with Craig Connolly

Emma Huskisson is a young woman aged 18.  She still lives at home with her Mum Karen and her Dad Pete with her younger sister Laura.  Her elder brother Mark is currently doing a stint at Her Majesty's Pleasure due to his rather repeated and obsessive hobby of twocking.  Emma's life isn't anything too special or interesting really.  She's an ordinary girl who earns her own money and has a job and doesn't sit on her arse all day expecting some fella to pay for everything.  And likewise, she's managed to stay out of trouble (so far) and not end up with a couple of kids and a council house like half the girls she went to school with.

She isn't exactly what anyone would call pretty, but she reckons when she puts a bit of slap on she can pass for looking fairly decent. She thinks she must look pretty grown-up when she gets dolled up because she's been able to get served in pubs and even get into 'Swankys' in town when she was thirteen.  She puts that down to her bust size, as even when she was quite young she knew she had a big pair and she knows she gets looks, even off her Dad's mates in the 'Johnny'.  Her hair seems to be perpetually greasy and she still gets quite severe outbreaks of spots from time to time which she thinks she gets from all the heat, steam and oil from the chippy.  She tends to wear quite a lot of perfume because she can never quite get rid of the smell of chip fat.

Her early to mid teens were generally unhappy at home and school.  Dad's a right bastard at home, always pissed and not afraid to give her Mum or herself and her sister a clout if they step out of line.  Mum's always defending him also, and spends more time having a go at her and Laura and asking when she's going to move out.  Emma often feels like she isn't even wanted at home and it'd be easier if she just left but really she has nowhere to go.

She didn't enjoy school and she didn't particularly work hard and scraped through getting a handful of CSE's.  Some arsehole in her year called Phillip called her Husky when she was eleven and it took her years to shake it.  Husky then just became barking at her and a lot of the lads made it clear that she was a 'dog'.  Until her tits grew of course.....

Then things got better in some respects, but worse in others.  She'd gone out with a boy called Steven when she was fourteen and after a month or two she did let him shag her and he told all of his mates.  It spread around the school like wildfire and all of a sudden she was known as 'Husky the Slag'.  It ripped her apart and even though she ditched Steven for letting it out and even though she knew half the girls in her class were shagging her Mark and his mates, her shame stuck and no-one else's did.  She never let a lad near her again at school after that, which was funny because half the lads joined in the name calling but they all wanted her.  Taking the piss by day, knocking on her door alone at night trying to be a mate.  She wasn't that stupid, she knew her reputation meant all the boys wanted a secret fuck.  Well, it weren't happening.

She wanted to shout at the whole town about the injustice of it all, when some of the girls who gave her shit where now pushing prams around the Gardens, and stuck indoors whilst she still had some kind of a life.

Into adulthood, there are still a few of the youth about who still say shit.  Like that bloke who tried it on with her one night when she was finishing up at Supper time in the chippy.  Next thing she heard was when his girlfriend told a friend of hers, Tracey Matthews that she'd heard in the pub that she'd been seen letting a lad with Downs finger her in the alleyway behind the chippy, and that she was a prossie, but only with them that had something wrong with them.

The rumours and the lies were hurtful but thankfully they seem to be drying up at the moment.  Because Craigy will sort out anyone who badmouths her now....

Loads of people think Craig's a wanker and an arsehole but they don't know him - not like Emma does.  They don't see how nice Craig is, see how funny and kind he is with her.  They don't see how he's almost gentle and respectful to her, and how he isn't always trying to get in her knickers.  When Craig's about, no-one says anything and she doesn't feel like a 'dog' or a 'slag'.  She knows that Craig sometimes gets into trouble, but that's his mates isn't it?  And he doesn't fight unless someone is asking for it, by disrespecting him or her.  He sticks up for her and treats her like a real woman.  She doesn't mind buying him a pint or two - she knows it's hard for him to get a job, what with all the looking after his Dad and his nephew and sister he does.  She doesn't make it look like she's paying either, slipping him a pound or two under the table - well, a man has to have his pride doesn't he?  And Em, for that's what Craig affectionately calls her, gets her pride from being seen with one of the hardest lads in Shaddy who doesn't treat her like a slag, and doesn't let anyone else do it either.

Em keeps her head down at home, avoiding conflict with her parents but at the chippy she's friendly to the customers having a natter with the regulars.  In the pub, when she's with Craig at least she's louder and more confident, happy to be with the 'gang' and having a laugh.
