The Player of Azad

The Player of Azad, Eshni to their friends, cuts a striking figure.  Dark skinned, with flashing brown eyes.  They are shaved bald on most of their head, except for the back, where long coils of braided brown hair extend all the way to their waist when set free.  The  multitude of long braids, trapped in brass rings, are interwoven to create a complex lattice work that cascades down their back.  It would be their most notable feature, if not for the many digits of their fingers, eight per hand including the thumbs.  It's only truly noticeable when they fidget with them, as their fingers are otherwise so small and delicate looking that the Player's hands hardly seem larger than normal despite the overabundance.  In truth though, they are almost never not fidgeting.  Be it game pieces, threaded string, or most commonly the strange silver lighter with the seemingly endlessly color shifting flame, their many fingered hands are almost always in motion.

Currently what little clothing they have is thread bare and worn, the elaborate embroidery and gold brocade suggesting considerable wealth in the not too distant past, but leaner times now.  Long drapes of silk, wrapped around the waist, with one end draped over the shoulder are their most common attire.  The style typically bares their midriff, revealing taunt muscle suggest more natural thinness than excessive physicality.  Underneath it they typically wear tightly fitted bodices, sculpted in such a way as to do nothing to disguise their distinct lack of curves, or the prominent bones of their hip and collar protruding from beneath.  The one universal is a brass amulet depicting the arcane runes for secrets and hunger, wrapped up within the eight arms of a spider.
