Frank Curran

Personal Statement:

Hi there. I'm Frank, Frank Curran. I've lived around here since my parents moved to the area when I was fifteen. Before that we were in Britain as my mum is English. My dad was over there during WWII and met her then. She wouldn't leave Britain so after he left the Army my dad never came back to the US and married her instead. I was born a year later and grew up in a country recovering from the War, still with rationing and all that. That's why I sometimes have a funny accent, a bit of a mix of English and American. My mum still hasn't lost hers.

So we move here in 1962 after my mum's parents passed away and I've lived around here since then, apart from a couple of years in 'Nam when I was drafted into the Infantry. Yea, I was dumb enough to re-up for a couple more tours after my first. Kind of felt like I belonged there, like I had found a brotherhood in 'Nam that I could rely on. Was a Sergeant before I decided I'd had enough and came home. That was a hell of a shock. All the protesting and stuff. Being accused of killing babies and being spat on wasn't fun and though I saw some nasty action over there I never did nothing like that.

Since then I've been doing whatever I can to pay the bills. You name it, I've tried it. I've been a delivery driver, done small scale removals with my truck, spent a while as a taxi driver, worked in a number of bars, been an odd job man doing bits of building work, carpentry, installing electrics, repairing electronics and, lastly, working as a hunting guide. Hunting is my main hobby, well apart from watching sports on TV, and so getting paid to guide other hunters is the best of both worlds.

Description:

Frank is in reasonable physical shape for a man of 37 years, not quite as fit and athletic as he once was but most of the work he does is physical so that helps. He is 5'10" tall, weighs about 185lbs and keeps his dark brown hair and beard trimmed relatively short. He tends to dress in black work boots, blue jeans and an OD green combat jacket unless he is out hunting when he switches to full camouflage.

When he talks, Frank's accent is notable as being different, particularly when he uses British words rather than their American equivalent.

He also has a notable bad habit. He is constantly chewing tobacco, spitting out great globules of brown residue, much to the annoyance of his companions. (Odious Personal Habit: Chewing Tobacco)
