Hezekiah Fredrick Zimmermann

Hezekiah, (Kiah to his family) grew up on a farm in Iowa, and he has the youthful good health that comes from such a vigorous life.

His family expected him to stay and work the farm, but Kiah yearned for more out of life. Studying hard in school, he wrote for the school news-paper, followed by the small town paper.

Drafted in the AEF, he trained, and even shipped to France, but arrived after the armistice had been declared.

He was mustered out early and went back home, but no longer felt that he fit in there.

When he turned twenty he packed his suitcase and headed to New York City with nothing more than a five dollar bill and a typewriter of his very own.

Getting off the bus in the big city, it took him a few weeks to find a job as a copy boy for a local paper. Luck and skill combined to get him a reporters job within six months. (In addition to his copy boy hours, and only on the side, details he did not share with his parents.)

His one affectation is that he wears glasses with clear class in the frames, because he thinks people will take him more seriously with them on, and it does seem to work, making him look a year or two older than he is.

He wears his earnest nature on his sleeve, and carries an innocence perhaps ill suited to be a reporter in the Big City. That said, he has found a nice niche on the society page of a paper that strove to stay on the good side of the upper crust. No innuendos or scandalous rumors for your Hezekiah!
