Saestra was taken by slavers from her homeland of Brythunia at a young age. She served in a Aquilonian nobleman's home for several years before being sold to a ludus in Argos upon her previous master's death. In Argos she was no stranger to the brutality of a slave's life, initially being used as entertainment before she slit the throat of one particularly abusive gladiator. Her owner - seeing the potential she had and wanting to dispose of a troublesome slave - promptly put her into the arena as his replacement. Her reckless nature and anger at years of abuse serves her well in the arena, and she enjoys the adulation of the crowd as she vents her fury.
